A Biodiversity for Business Forum 2007 was held with our Annual Meeting at the Essex Records Office, Chelmsford on 23 October. To download the proceedings click on the link below.
Summary
The Forum aimed to raise awareness of the importance of biodiversity, to demonstrate the benefits of taking action on behalf of biodiversity and to demonstrate what practical form those actions could take.
These aims were achieved through the inspiring presentations by award winning environmental writer and broadcaster Professor Chris Baines, Essex & Suffolk Water, BAA Stansted and John Newton, a green roofs expert. The presenters made a strong case for incorporating biodiversity into all aspects of business and for achieving the Wildlife Trusts’ Biodiversity Benchmark Award.
More than 70 people attended from 50 different organisations and participants took away information on practical ways in which to integrate nature conservation effectively into business practice.
We hope the Forum will have raised awareness of the compelling reasons for considering the needs of species and habitats in today’s world.
