Shining Ramshorn Snail (Segmentina nitida)

Identification - a small snail very similar to the common ramshorn snail.

General ecology - This snail is found in unpolluted, often calcareous (underlying rock - chalk etc) water from grazing marshes and is associated with a rich variety of other freshwater molluscs (snails).
