Ten Year Celebration

The Essex Biodiversity Project celebrated its ten years of existence at its Celebration Meeting at the Essex Record Office on July 3rd, attended by 60 people. The Annual Report tells the story of the achievements of the project to date. and can be donwloaded from the link below. You can also see the five presentations made at the meeting.

The Meeting heard a talk from Paul Wilkinson of the Wildlife Trusts about the Living Landscapes Initiative, which will be the focus of the Wildlife Trusts movement and the Essex Biodiversity Project in the coming years. This looks at the wider countryside around existing wildlife sites of all kinds and aims to create a landscape that is good for wildlife as well as supporting people.   

Paul Hewitt spoke about good practice in a local authority.

The Essex Biodiversity Quality of Life Award was presented to the Friends of Tiptree Heath for their committment and work in the restoration of the heath.
